Be cautious about the use of ultrasonic cleaners. Some stones are subject to internal stress -- tanzanite, opal, emerald, organic gems (e.g. pearl & coral). These should not be exposed to ultrasound too.

Mobile, Grease & edible oils like mustard oil does heavily acidic affect on your stones. Especially if you wear a treated one.

It is to advise that you must remove your rings if going to handle a heavy electrical tool like cutter, driller or any mechanical tools like hammer etc.

Opal, Turquoise and Malachite are porous gems and prone to discoloration if  deep into dirty water, high-concentrated detergent or oils.

Pearl, Coral should be keep away from heat. If you have to spent time more than a hour near stove on average, better to wear pendant instead of ring.

When cleaning nonporous gemstones, washing gently with a weak solution of ammonia, rinsing with clean lukewarm water, and drying with a soft lintfree cloth is quite effective and safe.

Buying the right stone is the only half thing you do. Mounting them into collate requires great artisan work & every next jewellers are not skilled enough to do that. Therefore, you have to find the "Collating expert" not just the jeweller. Some Gems dealer offer this service. It is the best idea to leave the collating work to them if so.

Emerald, Opel, Suelmani Hakik, Marium are such soft stones that often gets break into pieces if handle by a naive craftsman.

Every ring of gemstones should be deposit separately. Each should be embraced in a velvet cloth or lint paper separately. Otherwise the metal of one ring might leave scratches on the other stones & vice-versa.
